New Edge Networks Wins $6.5 Million Network Bid from AT Systems

VANCOUVER, Wash. – (July 21, 2004) – AT Systems International Inc., the third largest armored transportation and cash management company in the United States, awarded New Edge Networks a three-year $6.5 million contract for a multi-site broadband network.

AT Systems’ high-speed blended data network, based on ATM, Frame Relay, and DSL technologies, uses multi-path and redundant routing, linking about 140 branches, money rooms, and bank locations around the country with the company’s data centers and headquarters in Pasadena, Calif.

New Edge Networks had been providing AT Systems frame relay services in the past year after its previous service provider announced plans to stop offering data communications services, forcing the company to find another carrier.

“We used four factors for re-evaluating and selecting our network partner. New Edge Networks got “A” grades on nationwide network reach and stability, widest choice of access technology from a single source, commitment to service, and competitive pricing,” said Wesley Colvin, chief technical officer for AT Systems.

“New Edge Networks makes it easy for us to do business with them,” Colvin said. “This allows us to focus on other IT projects that can add more value to our company.”

W. Lange And Company Inc., a telecommunications consultancy based in Newhall, Calif., advised AT Systems. W. Lange is a master agent and has affiliations with various carriers including New Edge Networks.

“Joe Gomez, (chief information officer for W. Lange) and the W. Lange team have a clear understanding of AT Systems’ multi-site network. They also understand our products; how, when, and where to deploy them for maximizing value and cost savings for its customers,” said Dan Moffat, president and CEO of New Edge networks. “We value AT Systems business and our relationship with W. Lange. We will strive to exceed their service expectations and expand our relationship.”

David Lange, president of W. Lange said, “Dedication to work together for the ultimate benefit of the customer is key for successful deployment of complex networks that require different solutions for different locations. It is all about finding the best pieces and best value analysis so that our customers can focus on the core areas of their business.”

AT Systems uses primarily frame relay connections linking its remote sites with two data centers in Wilmington, Del., and Dallas. It uses the same network for Internet telephony, or VoIP. The company uses DSL connections for redundancy.
